SGS College have an exciting opportunity for two Academic Support Tutors at our Filton & WISE campuses.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Faculty of Academic Studies and to work closely with learners with a wide range of abilities, many who have yet to pass their GCSE English and maths qualifications. The role requires you to work collaboratively with academic staff to increase student attendance and attainment through the early identification of students that would benefit from additional support and intervention.
The successful candidate will provide tailored support to some of the more vulnerable learners who may be at risk of leaving college and will develop a comprehensive 6–8-week action plan with their learners. These will be closely monitored, with information shared on the college’s internal systems. An ability to deliver additional workshops to small groups or whole classes is a bonus.
SGS College is committed to supporting all learners, especially those who may be struggling to re-engage with education. If you have a genuine passion for education, hold a relevant teaching, coaching or mentoring qualification and want to make a real difference, then please apply; we are prepared to look at individuals who may have a broad range of experience.
The role is part of the college’s Catch up to Education Programme and ends in July 2022. This may be subject to further support, meaning the post could be extended further.
Please apply online by: Sunday 30th January 2022
